Our garage roof had a lot of water damage so we have to replace the old tables. Does it matter which side of the plywood boards – smooth or rough side? Re-roofing Any advice would be appreciated, this is the first time you do it ourselves. Essentially – I suggest using OSB (oriented strand board) instead of plywood. It's stronger, it costs less per sheet, and no grain direction and plywood to consider when beams are covered. OSB has a smooth side and a textured side. The textured side can rise to give extra grip and balance. Use layers-clips around the top edges in-between each beam to give needed expansion. If you do not have a pneumatic nail covers, use nails to hold the box 8d. Apply felt on the cover before putting the new shingles. Start at the bottom, as it does with the cover, and overlap a few inches at a time. Hold head felt nails. Use 1 "galvanized roofing nails and follow the instructions on the package. Good luck.
